About
Matt Esterline and his wife, Christine, are owners of Bike Tech Macon. Matt got into bike riding after watching the popular Tour de France races on T.V. He regularly rides bikes and enjoys the challenges of racing. In his spare time, Matt also enjoys fly fishing and camping.
As a B.G. Fit Technician, Matt has an understanding of how to integrate riders and their bikes by assessing their goals, physical capabilities, and body structure.
Matt also works as a general mechanic at Bike Tech. He is a certified U.B.I (United Bicycle Institute)technician in bicycle mechanics, wheel building and brakes/suspension.
He lives in Macon with his wife, Christine and their son, Austin.
Mercer University student, Gabriel Denes (known as Gabe around the shop), has been working at Bike Tech for almost one year. He is currently studying mechanical engineering and aspires to continue working in the bike industry.
Gabe has been a mechanic since the age of 14 in Columbus, Georgia, where he is from. He started building wheels at the age of 15 and says he loves to ride and trains regularly. He has raced throughout the southeast circuit and has been racing since he was a teenager.

Gabe moved to Macon last year to attend school and says he thoroughly enjoys working at Bike Tech in the mechanics service department.
Charlie Putnall is Bike Tech's newest employee. He came to Bike Tech this year, after expressing an interest in mechanics.
Presently, Charlie works part-time at Bike Tech. When he’s not at the shop, Charlie works as a hunting guide on a game preserve in Dry Branch.
Charlie enjoys racing bikes, both road and mountain. He also enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. He is a huge fan of mixed martial arts and used to compete.
Originally from Macon, Charlie grew up in Orlando, Florida, but moved back to Macon nine years ago.
He works on bikes at the shop.
Nate Embry has been working at Bike Tech for 11 years. He rides bikes as a hobby and truly enjoys it.
He came to Bike Tech years ago and has been providing a slew of services for customers. He is Bike Tech’s master mechanic. Not only does he work on repairs, he builds wheels.
What Nate enjoys most about working at Bike Tech is the customer relationships. He especially likes to interact with customers he has built a relationship with over the years.
Nate started riding bikes over 20 years ago, and before working at Bike Tech, worked as an automotive technician. He enjoys riding motorcycles in his spare time and lives in Macon with his wife.
Loucious Hawthorne (known around the shop as Lou), has been working at Bike Tech for over 23 years. He specializes in mechanic skills, works on all bikes as a repair specialist. He basically fixes anything!
Lou got into bikes at any early age. "I used to work on bikes in my backyard around my neighborhood," says Lou. A friend introduced Lou to the owner of Bike Tech during that time and he's been working at the shop ever since.
A family man with 3 girls, Lou is from Macon originally and enjoys working on bikes and keeping customers happy. In his spare time, he likes to grill out on nice days.
